Welcome
Welcome to our web site! We appreciate your interest in us and the ministry God is preparing us for in Romania.
Call to Ministry
God has called us to Romania to serve as part of the Baptist Mid-Missions (BMM) church planting team. We will be focusing on evangelism, discipleship, and outreach among the Gypsies and Romanians. We were actively involved in ministry at Tri-County Baptist Church for over 15 years. Through Dave's leadership role in Evangelism Explosion, God gave him a burden for soul winning and evangelism training, beginning from the time someone comes to know Christ. Dave also has a passion for men’s ministries and training men to become leaders in their local churches through small group Bible studies, one-on-one discipleship, and outreach activities. Ruth directed the AWANA Cubbies program for 12 years, and she was Vacation Bible School director for 6 years. She desires to use this experience in working with the children of Romania. She would also like to be involved in women’s ministries as well. The Lord allowed us to complete deputation and begin our first term in Romania in September 2009.
Spiritual Needs
There are over 2 million Gypsies living in Romania today. The Gypsies are largely unchurched and typically treated as outcasts. Thus, the opportunities for ministry are endless. Fourteen churches have been planted by BMM missionaries among the Gypsies since 1993, so there is a tremendous need to help disciple new believers and further develop the leadership in these churches. In addition, new churches are also being planted among the Romanians. As more Romanians come to know Jesus Christ, our hope is the social barriers between the Romanians and the Gypsies will begin to fall, and the common bond that we have in Christ will become evident.
Survey Trip
In March of 2006 we had the opportunity to visit Romania. The purpose of the trip was to survey the country, investigate opportunities for full-time ministry, experience everyday life, and visit several churches that have been planted. While in Romania, we saw many ways to serve using the gifts God has given us. In addition to the opportunities for evangelism, discipleship, and Bible training, the need for women's and children's ministries was apparent as the next generation desperately needs to hear the gospel.
