Spring 2024
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)
If you had the privelege of growing up in a Christian home in America as I did, you would have had access to a Bible or even several Bibles. However, lest we take the Scriptures for granted, the author of Hebrews reminds us of the supernatural power of God's Word that is the single source of unchangeable truth, inspiration, wisdom, and strength. Be sure to spend time reading and meditating on His Word each day.
Ministry Update
Throughout January, February, and March, Ruth enjoyed preparing for two ladies outreach events. The first, titled "The Living Seed," was held in mid-February for the ladies in Luncsoara. More than 36 women and teen girls attended the gardening-themed evening and heard an excellent devotional on the parable of the sower. The ladies also enjoyed playing Garden BINGO, making flower-related crafts, singing together, and receiving a gardening kit. Please continue to pray for their hearts to be fertile soil for the living seed of God's Word.
One month later, Ruth assisted other local believers in a much larger women's event. This two-night event, held on March 15-16 and titled "Never Alone," was planned by twelve women believers, including Ruth, as an evangelistic outreach to unsaved women. God truly blessed this huge ministry as approximately 750 women attended and heard a powerful testimony of God working in the speaker's life. All the women appreciated the beautiful music, delicious dinner of cabbage rolls and dessert made by volunteers, drawing prizes of Bibles, books, decor, and household items, and a photo booth. Praise the Lord that two women were saved at the event!
On Sundays we have been studying the major characters from the book of Genesis. The Lord mightily used these individuals to change their respective worlds. Today they serve as examples for us to teach us and to show us how to live lives that are devoted to God in the face of hardship, adversity, and persecution. By studying them, we can learn and we can grow in faith and to avoid some of their mistakes. Then, with the teens on Wednesdays, we are going through a series about characterisics of the Lord Jesus Christ, many of which will be familiar as we approach the Easter season in May this year.
Thankful for each of you and your part in our ministry!

New Ministry Focus with Bibles International
We do have some exciting news to share as we have begun to make plans to transfer to the Bibles International team of Baptist Mid-Missions. Over the past 14 years on the field, we have seen firsthad the importance of conveying Biblical truths in the native language of the people to whom you are ministering. Bibles International exists for this purpose, to translate the Scriptures into languages where the Scriptures do not exist.
We will be working alongside our former teammates, Tim and Sandy Fink. Officially, Dave's role will be Manager of Finance and Operations, a position they have been praying to fill since the previous manager retired. We are scheduled to return to the US on August 6, and we will be relocating to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where Bibles International is headquartered. Once we are settled, Ruth is planning to volunteer at Bibles International.
It is indeed a bittersweet time for us as Romania has become home for us, but we believe this is the work the Lord has called us to for the next stage of our ministry. Our status will remain as full-time missionaries, which means we will need to rely on continued monthly support. We will also need to raise an additional $1000/mo., of which approximately half has been committed. Otherwise, we remain part of the BMM family for missionary finance, insurance, and accounting. If you would like to join our ministry team or send a one-time gift to help with our relocation expenses, you may send it to Missionary Finance at Baptist Mid Missions, account number 703359. We look forward to continuing to share with you how the Lord is working as we begin this new chapter of service.
