Summer 2026

Simon Peter answered him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life, and we have believed, and have come to know, that you are the Holy One of God." (John 6:68-69)

John 6 is one of my favorite chapters in all of John. Starting with the feeding of the 5000, followed by Jesus walking on the water in the midst of the storm, His calming the storm and immediately transporting them to the opposite shore. By the end of the chapter, we see evidence of the real spiritual battle taking place between those who truly believed in Jesus, like Peter, and those who were merely curious or simply waiting for another miracle.

Innaugural Imersion Week a Great Success!
April was a flurry of activity at BI as we prepared forImmersion Week the first Immersion Week that was held in May. We were pleased to have eight college students and one veteran missionary join us for a week of activities centered on BI, its mission, opportunities for ministry, and what it is like to serve with BI. Attendees spent each day in teams of three visiting with BI missionaries and learning more about their roles and respective ministry responsibilities. During morning devotions each day, we heard testimonies from the attendees, which helped us in the office get to know them better. Immersion Week group photoIn the evenings, we had either activities planned or informal times to interact and reflect on the previous day. The overall response was very positive, and it is evident that the Lord has used and will continue to use this event to help direct the attendees in the future. We hope to build on the momentum this year by making Immersion Week an annual event. We are praying that many of those who participated this year will eventually return for an internship. For others, it may serve as a turning point as the Lord may be leading them to join BI in the future.

Daniel's Journey and VBS Opportunities
We have been pleased with the initial response Daniel's Journeyto the Daniel’s Journey Children's Ministry materials developed for 2026 for use by churches and individuals. She has been asked to participate in three VBS programs so far. One is scheduled during the first week of August. Several churches have highlighted the Children’s Missions project for 2026 in their VBS programs too.

Believe and follow the One who has the words of eternal life!
